Croft Court Townhouses
Tugun, QLD, Australia
The location of the townhouse development presented a considerable challenge in maximising the yield on a site heavily constrained with dramatic topography, nature reserves, bushfire ratings and easements. Through this challenge Glen Petersen Architect was able to carry out extensive site modelling to develop a strategy that was buildable and ensured ease of movement through the site.
What resulted is a unique development that presents a range of design typologies that ensures that the development presents more like a suburban street than a townhouse development. The design of the dwellings provides housing choice to suit various styles of living from a young family with living spaces that flow directly out to yard space, to older residence who may prefer elevated living spaces and decks.
Extensive consultation with the Gold Coast City Council took place to ensure that this development supports council’s strategies for the area, and to ensure that this wasn’t ‘an overdevelopment’. The complex although small boasts generous recreation facilities set amongst the natural bush setting. This project is currently under construction and has proven another successful development for our client.
