Airways Function Centre

Glen Petersen Architect in conjunction with Peddle Thorp PNG  was commissioned to undertake preliminary site analysis and Architectural design for the new Function Centre at the Airways Hotel. The project is designed to be aligned with the Airways Hotel objective of creating a first-class function and conference facility. Inclusive of flexible and functional conference rooms, the project also called for a commercial kitchen, bar area, and podium decks.

The aesthetics of the structure are based on integrating images of the PNG vernacular into a contemporary language, whilst merging and opening the structure and decks within its tropical, lush landscape.
